Type of project

Involvement of marginalized, disengaged youth in creating community-driven initiatives.

Target (Disengaged)

Youth from marginalized districts of Lublin with limited educational and social opportunities, where civic engagement is low.

Science – Based

All content will be based on scientific sources, and the youth will be trained in fact-checking, science communication, and distinguishing facts from opinions and disinformation.

Gender

The project recruitment will include men, women, and non-binary individuals. Educational content will consider the impact of climate on different groups, including a gender perspective.

Planned activities

• 72 ecological and climate-focused workshops
• 18 community events promoting Fairtrade and pro-climate actions
• Recruitment and training of 60 young pro-climate action leaders
• Implementation of 6 local micro-campaigns by the trained leaders
• Engagement of at least 24 local institutions in the project, with at least half undertaking pro-climate actions

Action model

• Grassroots initiatives by youth from marginalized districts aimed at raising awareness about the climate crisis, while also enhancing young people’s sense of agency and skills.
