Type of project

The initiative works in vocational high schools with teachers to engage students in workshops on ecological transition and green jobs, leading them to co-develop proposals and present them in dialogue with policymakers

The project directly addresses the political and social exclusion of vocational high school students from discussions on ecological transition and future job opportunities. It works directly in classrooms with teachers to deliver workshops on climate issues, green jobs, and how public policy is made. Through a structured programme, students are trained to identify issues, draft proposals, and understand legislative processes. The project culminates in direct dialogue with policymakers, where students present and defend their proposals.

Target (Disengaged)

The project directly targets vocational high school students, particularly from disadvantaged neighbourhoods and rural areas, who are often excluded from climate-related debates and political decision-making spaces. Students are mobilised through participatory workshops where they identify local issues, learn about ecological transition and policymaking, and are trained to formulate proposals. Engagement is strengthened through a progressive pathway combining classroom work, collective training, and direct interaction with policymakers.

Use of data to monitor the impact and use of science-base evidence to build the programes (LIEPP SciencesPo, etc.)

Gender

The project welcomes participants of all genders and does not apply any gender-specific targeting.

Planned activities

Direct beneficiaries: 45 vocational high school students across the three territories

3 MPs involved (one Member of Parliament per territory amendments)
3 amendment submissions
6 members of the organisation dedicated to the project

Action model

Engagement and selection

Direct interventions in high schools to present the project and raise awareness on ecological transition
Group sessions with students to discuss key issues
Identification of motivated students willing to take action

Training (with teachers)

Co-construction of a structured programme with teachers
Awareness sessions on ecological transition
Workshops on how the legislative process works and how amendments are written

Creation of a parliamentary working group with students, experts, and MPs
