Project translating GIEC Normand 2 data into a narrative comic format, combining journalistic investigation, visual storytelling, and dissemination through schools, exhibitions, and digital platforms.
The project uses a comic format to translate climate science into accessible and engaging content. By combining field reporting with illustration, it makes local climate issues and solutions concrete, while supporting dissemination through schools, exhibitions, and digital formats.
Target (Disengaged)
The project primarily targets high school students, a group often concerned but not always engaged or empowered to act. By using a comic format and adapting content to digital uses (smartphone format, social media), it creates accessible entry points and addresses eco-anxiety by highlighting concrete, collective solutions.
Science – Based
Based on GIEC Normand 2, with content developed through exchanges with scientists and grounded in field reporting. Scientific data is translated into narrative and visual formats, making complex information more accessible while maintaining a strong link to research.
Gender
The project ensures attention to balanced representation in the people interviewed and portrayed in the comic. However, it does not include a specific approach to addressing gendered experiences of climate impacts or participation.
Planned activities
Direct beneficiaries: 150 students (school workshops), 2,000 students (exhibition), 10 teachers (webinar)
Indirect beneficiaries: 5,000 readers via online publication, 10,000 readers via social media
Planned activities / indicators:
- Production of a ~50-page comic based on GIEC data and field reporting (interviews and reporting with local actors and scientists)
- Adaptation of the comic into digital formats (social media, smartphone)
- Organisation of an exhibition for schools
- 5 workshops in high schools (with journalist and illustrator)
- Development of pedagogical materials (teacher guide) and webinar for teachers
Action model
