Creation of “rain gardens” (models in display cases and courtyard design) to raise awareness about natural rainfall management

Students, families, teachers, and an often-passive municipal administration.

Science-based

 The project involves creating interactive display models with draining substrates and native water-loving plants. Informational panels will explain topics like water flow, plants, animals, and microclimate for both children and adults. Visitors can also learn about technology through sensors or simple tools that measure humidity and temperature.

Gender

Careful attention to avoid gender role-playing or discrimination during workshop activities.

Planned activities

• 3 each Participatory co-design between teachers/students, physical creation of mini-rain gardens in display cases, communication events and and advocacy toward the Municipality.

Action model

• “School as a living lab” model; the hypothesis is that activating youth as protagonists of scientific solutions stimulates a change in attitude among adults and institutions.
