Type of project

The project uses music and creative recycling to generate musical instruments as tools to raise awareness of the climate crisis, empowering young people to lead changes in consumption and sustainable resource management. Focusing on environmental awareness through the creation of musical instruments from recycled materials, creating a youth band (orchestra) with instruments made from recycled materials.

It responds to the need to raise awareness among new generations about the impact of climate change, using music and recycling as attractive and effective tools in transforming mindsets and habits.

It will last 6 months.

Target (Disengaged)

Young people in primary and secondary education, young people with disabilities, local musicians and the general population of the municipality of Las Cabezas de San Juan, Seville.

Science – Based

They base the initiative on the link between climate change and people’s lifestyles, consumption and production.

Gender

It will promote the active participation of women and girls in the project.

Planned activities

• Raising awareness among young participants about the impact of climate change, creation of orchestra and musical performance, communication campaign.

Action model

• It includes hands-on recycling workshops to create musical instruments, educational workshops in schools and colleges, and a final community concert with the “Planetary Orchestra” to make the impact of the project visible.
