Summary of the project

The SEStante project stems from the need to disseminate knowledge among citizens and increase their environmental awareness through a citizen science approach, which can allow the creation of a more motivated and proactive citizenship in the management of environmental issues of their urban territories.
The project is important to increase awareness among citizens on environmental issues such as the ecosystem value of the urban green, even with a final aim to mitigate the climate change. The citizen Science is the tool identified by this proposal to achieve this objective. The target group is the citizenship of the Municipio I in Rome, but with the intention to involve other municipalities in the collection of reports using an App developed ad hoc. An initiative that meets the growing demand from citizens to actively participate in monitoring the quality of the environment where they live, and the desire to also assume a managerial role.
