Summary of the project

“Plastico à Vista” is an environmental awareness project focused on the problem of plastic in the world, alerting to the lack of awareness about production, consumption and reuse of plastic. The goal is to raise awareness about the impact of plastic as marine litter and its possibilities for reuse, stimulating eco-enterprise and sustainable economy. We will gather EDA’s methodology, community intervention work, the project Precious Plastic, to create waste processing machines and to develop a program of activities with initiatives (empirical and practical training) to promote global knowledge and best alternative practices. After starting a pilot project at school, a “mini itinerant recycling station” will be created and will run for 10 months along the coastal zone between Trafaria and Costa da Caparica, in the Municipality of Almada. The direct beneficiaries will be around 1500 people, from pre-school children, adults from the Fishing Association and seniors from the daycare centre.
