Type of project

The project work for the creation of spaces for the exchange of objects. This aspect not only fosters sharing among community members but also helps develop sustainable behaviours and reduce environmental impact. Specifically, the project foresees the setup of shelves for storing objects inside classrooms and the management of a loan register, which will facilitate interaction among participants and the circulation of shared items. Moreover, the initiative aims to engage local communities, creating an environment where exchanging goods becomes a habit, thus promoting a culture of circular economy and sustainability. Some data indicate the expected involvement of students and parents, with monthly targets for object loans, contributing to a significant social and environmental impact.

Planned activities

• Participation & Training: Involvement of 140+ students, 60 parents/school staff, and 50 children across Bologna and Forlì; creation of operational teams.
• Knowledge & Monitoring: Delivery of 3 monitoring reports, 2 needs assessments, 3 BdO regulations, and 2 inclusive communication strategies; improved design and management skills tracked via questionnaires.
• Community Links: Stronger collaboration between schools, families, and local circular economy institutions.
• Borrowing Libraries (BdO):
  • BdO 3.1 – Students (P2P): Objects shared via web-app, supplemented by Leila Bologna.
  • BdO 3.2 – Parents (P2P): Objects shared from homes, with schools as collection/delivery points.
  • BdO 3.3 – Classroom: Shared objects stored in class, managed with a loan register.

Action model

• The projects bases its result chain on the assumptions that the preparation of “Borrowing Library” (design, co-programming and start up) give the opportunity to involve directly citizens (students, parents) and, at the same time, to ensure a more ample awareness regarding the climate-sustainability themes
