Type of project
The project promotes access to cycling for vulnerable populations in Angers, Laval, and La Roche-sur-Yon through training, repair workshops, and community engagement, while fostering autonomy, social inclusion, and environmental awareness.
The project addresses mobility as a key barrier to social and professional inclusion. It provides free access to cycling education, repair services, and recycled bikes for people in precarious situations, especially in Priority Urban Neighborhoods (PUN). It empowers individuals through skill-building, confidence, and access to essential services.
Target (Disengaged)
People in deep social and economic precarity, including women (especially from migrant backgrounds), youth, and residents of PUNs. The project supports their reintegration through hands-on learning, mobility autonomy, and community-based activities.
Science – Based
Grounded in data from the Ministry of Ecological Transition, ANCT, INSEE, and Wimoov. Tracks modal share, poverty rates, and mobility exclusion. Uses pre/post evaluations, follow-up surveys, and CO₂ impact estimates to assess outcomes.
Gender
Strong gender-sensitive approach. Focuses on empowering women through cycling, especially those who never learned to ride or lack confidence in traffic. Includes targeted outreach, women-only sessions, and activities to promote autonomy and well-being.
