Type of project

Project translating GIEC Normand 2 data into participatory and educational formats focused on public speaking and debate, combining immersive sessions for students, training of educators, and development of reusable pedagogical tools.

The project combines climate science with public speaking and debate formats, using immersive sessions and practical exercises (e.g. debates, mock trials) to help participants both understand and communicate climate issues.

Target (Disengaged)

The project targets high school students and education actors through formats designed to be participatory, interactive, and rooted in local realities. Science – Based

Based on GIEC Normand 2, with direct involvement of researchers in activities (e.g. meetings, conferences). Scientific content is integrated into interactive formats and explored through themes such as future climate scenarios, law, urban heat islands, and psychology.

Planned activities

Direct beneficiaries: 3 classes of high school students (immersive sessions), Teachers, educators, and mediators (training sessions)

Planned activities / indicators:

• Organisation of an immersive day for 3 classes of high school students (including meetings with researchers, investigation workshops, and public speaking exercises such as debates and mock trials)
• Implementation of a training day for teachers and mediators on GIEC Normand 2 content, mediation techniques, and responding to climate scepticism
• Development of reusable pedagogical tools (e.g. fact sheets on misconceptions, animation formats such as debates and mock trials) and resource mapping

Action model

• Translate scientific knowledge into accessible and engaging formats combining climate content with public speaking and debate exercises
• Engage students and education actors through immersive and participatory activities (workshops, debates, mock trials), linking understanding of climate issues with the ability to express and discuss them
• Build dissemination capacity through training of relays (teachers, mediators) and development of reusable tools, enabling reuse in educational and mediation contexts
