Type of project

Project translating GIEC Normand 2 data into pedagogical pathways and public engagement activities, combining training of facilitators, outreach to vulnerable audiences, and animations in public spaces.

The project combines the development of pedagogical tools, training of facilitators, and direct outreach to communities. Its strength lies in connecting these elements into a coherent pathway, with a strong emphasis on dissemination and replication through trained intermediaries.

Target (Disengaged)

The project specifically targets audiences often removed from climate debates, including residents in priority neighbourhoods and people in vulnerable situations (e.g. Social Reintegration and Accommodation Centers, retirement homes, detention settings). Outreach-based activities in local spaces help lower barriers to participation and create accessible entry points for engagement.

Science – Based

Based on scientific data including GIEC Normand 2, with content validated by a network of experts and adapted into pedagogical formats. The approach ensures credibility while focusing on accessibility and clarity for non-specialist audiences.

Gender

The project promotes mixed participation and pays attention to inclusive communication formats, though no specific gender-targeted strategy is developed.

Planned activities

Direct beneficiaries: ~15 facilitators trained, residents in priority neighbourhoods (~90 participants minimum)

Indirect beneficiaries: Wider public via dissemination and reuse of pedagogical tools

Planned activities / indicators:

• Creation of pedagogical pathways based on GIEC themes
• Training sessions for facilitators and animation professionals
• Public space animations (neighbourhood outreach activities)
• Dissemination of tools in open access (free reuse)

Action model

• Translate scientific knowledge into pedagogical pathways and accessible tools, and build the capacity of facilitators to deliver climate education across the territory
• Engage residents, particularly in underserved neighbourhoods, through outreach-based animations in public and community spaces, linking knowledge to discussion and potential action
• Ensure dissemination and replication through open-access resources and trained intermediaries, creating a multiplier effect beyond the direct activities
