Type of project

Empowering isolated seniors in disadvantaged urban areas through pedestrian mobility support, collective workshops, and individualized accompaniment, while also fostering local employment and social cohesion.

A holistic approach combining awareness-raising, direct support, and professional training to reduce mobility-related exclusion among elderly residents in Priority Urban Neighborhoods (PUN), i.e. neighborhoods with high rates of socio-economic needs.

 

Target (Disengaged)

Seniors in QPV, especially women, facing isolation, low income, and mobility challenges; also includes long-term unemployed residents engaged as mobility support workers.

Science – Based

Based on local studies (UrbaLyon 2024, internal surveys) and public health/social mobility data; strong MEAL component with detailed and relevant indicators to measure outputs and outcomes; well defined/quantified targets.

Gender

Inclusive of all genders, with a focus on elderly women (77.5% of isolated seniors), single women, and female aid workers.

  • 8 local residents in professional reintegration trained; 70ù report increased capacities in mobility

Action model

  •  Thematic mobility weeks in 4 QPV
  •  Individual walking accompaniment service for seniors to overcome mobility barriers (pedestrian issues or public transport use)
  •  Training and employment of local residents as mobility support workers
