The project supports ecological restoration and community mobilisation through collective hedge-planting actions that strengthen agricultural resilience and deepen connections between citizens and local farmers.
The project strengthens territorial resilience by restoring hedgerows, improving ecological functions (water regulation, biodiversity, carbon storage), and mobilizing citizens around regenerative landscape practices. It also supports the professionalization and structuring of the association to increase its long-term ecological and social impact.
Target (Disengaged)
The project is grounded in robust scientific literature on territorial food autonomy (UTOPIE, Stéphane Linou) and on the ecological functions of hedgerows, drawing extensively on INRAE research, the Tetra’haie group, and regenerative hydrology studies (Charlène Descollonges).
Science – Based
The project is grounded in ecological science through collaborations with the Université Bretagne Sud (biology department), which is conducting a 3-year biodiversity impact study (2025–2028), and through ongoing work with environmental experts such as the Ligue de Protection des Oiseaux (LPO), GAB56, and agroecology partners. The restoration plan (tree species selection, habitat creation, monitoring) is developed with these scientific partners.

Planned activities

Action model
- Organise collective volunteer workdays to plant, protect, and maintain hedgerows with farmers engaged in agroecological transition, providing them with essential labour and ecological support.
- Mobilise citizens through both small, regular local workdays and large multi-day “workcamp-festivals” that combine ecological restoration, shared learning, community living, and festive engagement.
- Strengthen territorial resilience by helping farmers establish ecological infrastructures, such as hedgerows, that improve biodiversity, water regulation, soil stability, carbon storage, and the overall sustainability of agricultural landscapes.
- Build long-term, locally rooted engagement by structuring volunteer groups in different regions and offering ongoing ecological and pedagogical activities that empower citizens to take part in landscape regeneration.
