Type of project

A hybrid model combining cycling education, bike reuse, and community repair workshops to promote sustainable mobility as part of the ecological transition, empower vulnerable groups (especially women), and foster local solidarity.

The project promotes cycling as a tool for social emancipation and engaging vulnerable individuals in the ecological transition. It includes learning to ride, self-repair workshops, and awareness-raising activities, with a focus on accessibility, gender equity, and long-term autonomy.

Target (Disengaged)

Residents of PUN (Priority Urban Neighborhoods), especially women, youth, and low-income individuals. The project addresses disengagement by removing barriers to cycling (skills, cost, confidence) and offering inclusive, community-based learning environments.

Science – Based

Based on national and local data (INSEE, ADEME, FUB) and integrates behavior change tools (e.g., “Nos vies bas carbone” workshop). Uses participatory evaluation and tracking of mobility behavior change.

Gender

Strong gender lens: dedicated women-only cycling classes, childcare during sessions, and focus on overcoming cultural and psychological barriers to cycling for women.
