Type of project

A project in the water sector aimed at building trust in scientific data and countering misinformation about public water.

Water scarcity and the climate crisis make it urgent to raise awareness among citizens and institutions about the importance of valuing local water resources.

The project aims to build trust in scientific data and break down prejudices against the use of tap water to combat widespread misinformation about public water. Comparative tests and analyses of public fountains will be conducted.

Target (Disengaged)

The project will engage citizens through anonymous comparative tests in public squares between public and private water, a practical approach to encourage the participation of those less sensitive to the issue.

Science – based

The chemical and bacteriological analyses of public fountains will be carried out by certified laboratories. The results will be translated into infographics, videos, and simple, easy-to-understand educational materials to strengthen trust in scientific data and support an informed debate.

Multimedia investigations and reports: Production of journalistic content (video, audio, photos) that document the functioning, critical issues and excellence of the Palermo water system.
Urban communication campaign: Creative actions and media guerrilla in the city to stimulate the interest and involvement of those who normally remain on the margins of the environmental debate.
Public events and debates: Meetings in the neighborhoods, screenings and talks with experts, activists and citizens to discuss the future of public water in an inclusive and participatory perspective.
Creation of an online platform: A digital space that collects stories, data and useful tools to learn and take action on the topic of public water: https://www.h2oh.neunoi.it/
