Galilée
CSO: Galilée
Area: Green Jobs
Location: Saint-Omer, Pas de Calais
Type of project
Participatory initiative using video-making as a tool to support vulnerable young people, helping them build confidence, develop social and professional skills and discover green careers linked to the social and solidarity economy
The project addresses social exclusion, lack of confidence and limited access to professional opportunities among vulnerable young people from working-class neighbourhoods. It uses participatory video-making to engage young people in discovering green careers linked to the social and solidarity economy. The project also aims to strengthen orientation pathways and create connections with local actors and employers.
Target (Disengaged)
The project directly targets vulnerable young people (16-26) from working-class neighbourhoods who are unemployed, socially isolated, or disconnected from school. It plans to mobilise them through a participatory methodology based on collective video-making projects and co-constructed group dynamics. Through meetings with local professionals and social economy actors, the project also aims to rebuild confidence, strengthen engagement, and reconnect participants with green career opportunities.
Science – Based
Project development through a test-and-learn approach and use of data to monitor the impact.
Gender
The project integrates a strong gender dimension by addressing stereotypes linked to careers and orientation throughout the activities and by ensuring diversity and gender balance within participant groups.
