Type of project

Fighting food waste and promoting a shared and participatory ecological revolution. A project on food waste reduction that aims to reach people in vulnerable situations.

The project demonstrates a commendable focus on an important issue and a traditionally
underserved population, along with an awareness of gender dynamics. 

Target (Disengaged)

Reach those living in vulnerable situations, often excluded from global discussions such as the climate crisis because they are absorbed by daily challenges.

Challenging the stereotypes that associate food preparation with the female role. The goal is to demonstrate that taking care of food is a shared responsibility, involving the entire community, regardless of gender.

Planned activities

• Food and environmental education workshops: Practical activities to understand the link between food production, emissions and waste. Focus on low-carbon cuisine and ethical supply chains.
• Public and convivial events: Meetings, collective dinners and moments of sociality to stimulate debate and encourage participation through food culture.
• Multi-channel communication campaign: Narrative of the project through videos, testimonials, graphics and podcasts to reach a broad and non-specialist audience.
• Activities in the neighborhoods: Interventions in the most marginalized territories, in particular in the Vanchiglietta neighborhood of Turin, to involve those who often remain on the margins of the environmental debate.

Action model

• People should be more informed about the importance of fighting food waste and the impact of our food choices and about the importance of local consumption and homemade products, understanding how these choices reduce environmental impact, support the local economy, and improve the quality of our food.
