Type of project

The project will empower disengaged young people (16–30), primarily NEETs, to reconnect with learning and employment through hands-on discovery and pre-qualification training in eco-construction and agroecology, using immersive, practice-based pedagogy rooted in real workshops and professional settings.

The project seeks to empower rural youth by reconnecting them with meaningful learning experiences rooted in ecological trades. By placing participants directly in real workshops and farms, the initiative helps them regain confidence, develop practical skills, and engage in the ecological transition of their territory.

Target (Disengaged)

Many of the young people involved have struggled with barriers to access school, work, and environmental education. The immersive, hands-on format offers a concrete starting point for NEET youth to (re-)engage with education and work opportunities, specifically in ecological fields.

Science – Based

The programme is grounded in territorial studies on youth employment and ecological transition, uses practical workshops led by expert professionals, and integrates science-based educational tools such as the Climate, Construction, and Soil Fresks.

Gender

The project welcomes participants of all genders and does not apply any gender-specific targeting.

Planned activities / indicators:

• 1 new 3-week agroecology discovery programme to be designed
• 2 discovery pathway sessions held and support with socio-professional engagement and orientation
• Follow-up of youth at 6, 12, and 24 months to measure positive exits

Action model

• Immerse disengaged young people (16–30) in real agroecology and eco-construction workshops, learning by doing alongside experienced professionals in authentic work settings.
• Design and deliver targeted “Discovery Pathways” that introduce participants to manual ecological transition professions, including a new three-week programme fully dedicated to agroecology careers.
• Support socio-professional re-engagement and autonomy through hands-on skill-building, orientation toward training or employment, and follow-up at 6, 12, and 24 months to measure progress and ecological engagement.
