This project guides individuals through the process of eco-friendly and sustainable home renovations by involving them in hands-on activities and participatory workshops, fostering a strong sense of community and mutual support.
The project supports vulnerable families to develop and apply practical skills in eco-construction to reduce the costs related to improving their energy security.
Target (Disengaged)
The project methodology engages vulnerable households who otherwise would not be spending time and resources on climate measures by involving directly in the renovation process through hands-on activities, participatory workshops, and community support, making eco-friendly practices more accessible and appealing due to their practical, cost-saving benefits and the opportunity to learn valuable skills.
Science – Based
It employs specialized knowledge and proven techniques for renovating old buildings, ensuring thermal comfort, energy efficiency, and low carbon impact, supported by continuous training and collaboration with technical experts and organizations.
Gender
Primarily supports women, particularly single mothers, by providing them with the resources, skills, and community support needed for their renovation projects, fostering their autonomy and self-esteem in a traditionally male-dominated field.
Planned activities
- 35 new households supported
- 35 diagnostic visits conducted
- 2000 hours of volunteer work completed on our projects, mostly by women
- 1 site visit conducted for elected officials and beneficiaries
- Communication campaign about raw earth production and our solidarity projects at public events
Action model
- Encourage households to undertake cost-efficient, ecological, and sustainable renovation work through assisted self-rehabilitation.
- Strengthen social ties, mutual aid, diversity, and knowledge about ecological issues through a local exchange system where beneficiaries and volunteers exchange time and skills.
- Promote local, ecological, and sustainable materials and implementation methods through information campaigns.
