Type of project

A comprehensive cycling-based mobility program to support the professional and social inclusion of NEET youth in Toulon, while promoting health, autonomy, and environmental awareness

The project combines practical cycling training, access to refurbished bikes, and job-oriented mobility support to empower vulnerable youth. It also includes employer engagement to facilitate job placements, and virtual reality tools to overcome psychological barriers to mobility.

Target (Disengaged)

NEET youth (16–29), including women, people with disabilities, and those facing multiple barriers to employment and mobility. The project addresses disengagement by offering practical, empowering, and health-promoting mobility solutions.

Science – Based

 Based on national and local data (e.g., Enquête Mobilité Emploi, LMI 2016), and internal monitoring of mobility-related barriers. Uses VR tools to simulate real-world cycling conditions and reduce fear. Strong MEAL approach to measure outcomes.

Gender

Gender-balanced approach with specific attention to women who have never learned to cycle (40% in Marseille pilot). Includes tailored support and adult cycling school access.

Planned activities
