Type of project
Participants will be supported to adopt ecological behaviours which can improve energy efficiency in their homes and reduce energy bills through collective and individual support, while social workers and donors will be trained to incorporate these key messages into their ongoing actions.
A multi-pronged approach to address the specific needs of those in energy poverty, including raising awareness amongst residents and professionals engaged in supporting these vulnerable households, direct support to incorporate actions at the household level, and training and mentoring of staff of partner structures who interact regularly with these households on how to mainstream this support into their regular activities

The initiatives specifically target populations who are in energy poverty, thus who are directly affected by the question of energy efficiency with implications on their household finances. The project offers a means of engaging on the issue of climate through a logic of household economy, offering an important means to engage underprivileged households on this issue which directly impacts their livelihoods.

Planned activities

40 direct beneficiaries and at least 70 indirect beneficiaries including children reached through awareness raising from all ages, all genders, with a focus on single-parent families, couples with children, couples without children, single people, persons with disabilities

Action model
- Support households in energy insecurity to adopt specific measures to reduce energy poverty in their homes
- Conduct collective sessions with residents and construction professionals to raise awareness on these measures
- Training and coaching of social workers, donors, and other members of the partner structures on how to analyse and support households to address issues of energy insecurity during their regular activities
