Type of project

Project translating GIEC Normand 2 data into accessible formats (exhibition, workshops, conferences), linking climate science to architecture, urban planning, and climate adaptation in territories, and supporting dissemination through trained local facilitators.

The project uses formats such as exhibitions, workshops, and conferences to translate climate science into concrete examples of how places are affected by climate change and how they can adapt (e.g. urban planning, housing, landscapes). Its strength lies in combining scientific input with accessible formats that allow participants to understand local impacts, discuss them through workshops and participatory activities, and reflect on possible responses.

The project engages a broad range of audiences, including the general public, students, and local professionals, with formats designed to be accessible and participatory (guided visits, workshops, itinerant exhibition).

Science – Based

Based on GIEC Normand 2 across multiple themes (climate, energy, biodiversity, economy, sociology), with strong involvement of academic partners (universities, TUR.N). Scientific content is translated into visual, spatial, and narrative formats.

Gender

The project integrates attention to balanced representation and inclusive facilitation (e.g. mediator training, participatory formats designed for equitable access). However, it does not explicitly address how climate impacts may differ across genders within the content.

Planned activities

Direct beneficiaries: ~5,000 participants (exhibition in Rouen: general public, professionals, ~10 school classes), 10–20 trained territorial relays

Indirect beneficiaries: (Unquantified) wider audiences reached through itinerant exhibition and dissemination by trained relays

Production and deployment of an itinerant exhibition (with accompanying booklet)
Implementation of mediation activities (workshops, conferences, including graphic formats, and territorial risk fresco)
Development of reusable resources and tools (guide “Territoires et climat – Normandie”, pedagogical supports)
Training of territorial relays (10–20 participants)
