Type of project

 It aims to promote community and ecological regeneration in Mira-Sintra by engaging local residents – particularly individuals who are traditionally less interested in climate issues and/or from disadvantaged communities – in the co-creation of a 400 m² urban mini-forest. Through participatory processes, the project fosters climate awareness, social cohesion and the integration of regenerative systems in urban environments.

Target (Disengaged)

• 16 children and adolescents aged 5 to 17;
• 30 young people aged 18 to 30;
• 32 members of the local community.

Planned activities

• R1. The local community of Mira-Sintra is mobilised and sensitised to climate issues through participatory and inclusive processes.
• R2. An urban mini-forest is collaboratively implemented, integrating regenerative systems and nature-based solutions.
• R3. Local caregivers are trained and a community-based maintenance system is established, ensuring the long-term sustainability of the mini-forest.
