Type of project

This project seeks to work in the Río San Pedro neighbourhood to raise awareness and train people to participate in urban improvement processes based on bioclimatic, urban metabolism, nature-based solutions and the ecofeminism.

It responds to the need to rethink urban spaces as ecosystems that integrate sustainable practices, mitigate climate change, and promote equity, in a context of increasing climate vulnerability in Andalusia.

Science – Based

It integrates bioclimatic urban planning studies, climate resilience analysis and ecosocial planning models, ensuring that proposals are feasible, scientifically sound and adapted to the local context. Strategies for adaptation to climate change in the urban environment and their impact rates on the urban environment will be presented.

Gender

Proposal based on ecofeminism for urban improvement. Urbanism with a gender perspective. Promotes gender equity as a transversal axis in all activities, making visible the contribution of women in planning and ensuring their active participation in the design and management processes.

Planned activities

• Train 80% of participating municipal technicians, sensitise local communities on the importance of resilient urbanism and generate replicable tools for sustainable urban planning in Andalusia.

Action model

• It interweaves science, art and social issues ecofeminist pedagogies. It includes technical and participatory training workshops, urban co-design dynamics, the creation of practical guides and pilot projects in selected municipalities, integrating ecofeminist and bioclimatic methodologies.
