Type of project

The project supports vulnerable in (re)-discovering green transition careers, while valuing their skills and challenging gender stereotypes.

The project operates between an urban priority neighbourhood and a rural village, promoting social and territorial complementarity. It supports young people’s inclusion through coaching, job search support, training opportunities and exposure to green transition careers. Based on an acquired campsite used for activities and accommodation- where one group of young people is hosted – it fosters social mixing through joint workshops and work-based learning.

Target (Disengaged)

The project targets two groups of vulnerable young people (18-25yo): those in highly precarious situations, including street-involved youth or those under child protection care, and young people living in urban priority neighbourhoods who face barriers to social and professional integration.

Science – Based

Use of data to monitor the activty and the impact.

Gender

The project welcomes participants of all genders, but does not apply any gender-specific targeting. 

Planned activities

Beneficiaries: 25-35 young people involved in the workshop during the project  

Planned activities / indicators: 

• 15 to 20 young people engaged over the long term
• 1 workshop/worksite day every two weeks, or half a day per week on average
• Number of partners involved in the initiative: weekly attendance register (youth and partners) (not quantified)
• Number of pieces of furniture created / m² of wetland restored (not quantified)
• Quantity (and type) of materials and tools used: end-of-project technical inventory (not quantified)

Action model

• Rural site: restoration of a 90 m² pond that is gradually disappearing
• Urban site: construction of wooden urban furnitures (giant games, “conversation benches”, bicycle repair stations, etc.)
